Roll-off dumpster rental in Mooresville

The yard is at 735 S Broad St, inside Mooresville town limits in Iredell County. The town center is approx. 1 road mile away, around 3 minutes.

Mooresville is where the trucks start. The yard on S Broad St is inside town limits: the US Census geocoder puts 735 S Broad St in the Town of Mooresville, Iredell County. Delivery is same-day or next-day across town, depending on availability — calling before noon gives the best chance of same-day.

It is a town of 50,193 at the 2020 Census, in Iredell County. The Town runs residential sanitation only: it does not provide dumpsters to residential or commercial users (Code §12-56), and Town forces do not collect building materials — lumber, bricks, plaster, sheetrock, roofing shingles, carpet padding, linoleum — which may not be put at the curb at all (§12-65(1)). A kitchen, a roof or a whole-house clear-out is roll-off work.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Mooresville

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • The yard is inside town limits — the Census geocoder places 735 S Broad St in the Town of Mooresville, Iredell County. S Broad St appears to be a Town street; NC 115 (S Main St) is the nearby state road.
  • Private haulers for everything but houses — households in town use Town roll-out carts (§12-54(a)), owners of attached buildings with more than seven units must provide private garbage service (§12-61(a)), and the Town says properties outside town limits, non-houses and commercial properties are served by private sanitation companies.
  • Contractor and tree-crew debris — lot clearing, pruning or cutting by a hired contractor is not picked up (§12-65(2)), and the Town says tree service contractors must remove and dispose of everything their work generates. Free residential brush pickup stops at 2 cubic yards, with pieces no longer than 4 feet or thicker than 4 inches, and no stumps.
  • Dial-A-Dumpster is residents-only — the Town lends residents a free dumpster for a maximum of seven days, not from November 1 to January 1, for yard or household waste only: no construction or contractor debris, shingles, paint, electronics or pallets. It must sit in the driveway, not in the yard or street.
  • Weekly bulky pickup — the Town takes furniture, appliances and mattresses without an appointment, but not bricks, carpet, concrete, dirt, rocks, tires, electronics or construction and demolition debris.
  • Household hazardous waste — Iredell County holds HHW Day at the Twin Oaks facility, 8 to 11:30 a.m. on set Saturdays (check the County HHW page for dates; none in December). Iredell residents only, no business waste, and no more than 15 one-gallon cans of paint.

What comes out of Mooresville properties

Roofing jobs in 10s and 20s, home remodels in 20s, landscaping and yard clean-ups in 15s and 20s, estate clear-outs in 30s, demolition and commercial construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, dirt, brick, asphalt and gravel — heavy material goes in the smaller boxes because of strict weight limits for transport and disposal. Load it level with the top rim; an overfilled dumpster cannot be legally transported. In Iredell County, the Twin Oaks landfill in Statesville takes demolition debris at a published $44 a ton plus $2 a ton state tax, while the Mooresville Transfer Station takes no construction debris from commercial sources. County facilities take no dirt or stumps, so tell us when the load is either.

North Carolina decides what stays out of the container. G.S. 130A-309.10(f) says no person shall knowingly put used oil, antifreeze, oil filters, lead-acid batteries, whole scrap tires or white goods — fridges, ranges, water heaters, washers, dryers and other large appliances — in a landfill, and the same list takes in consumer computers, monitors, printers and TVs ((f)(14), (15)). From 1 December 2026, lithium-ion batteries join it ((f)(16)). Fluorescent tubes and mercury thermostats cannot go to any NC C&D landfill (§130A-309.10(m)). Fridges, freezers and A/C units need any remaining refrigerant recovered under federal EPA rules (40 CFR 82.155). No liquid paint, solvents, fuel, propane tanks, gas cylinders or medical waste — NC DEQ says to let leftover paint air dry, mixed with litter. A clean load of concrete, brick, block, asphalt, gravel and rock counts as inert debris (15A NCAC 13B .0101(28)); shingles, drywall and treated lumber do not, so keep them out of it.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Mooresville

Who may haul — the rule that matters: we found no Town franchise, hauler permit or hauler registration in the Mooresville code. The Town runs residential cart service and says in its code that it does not provide dumpsters to residential or commercial users (§12-56); everything else goes to private haulers. Contractors haul their own debris: Town crews do not pick up what hired contractors and tree crews cut (§12-65(2)), and Dial-A-Dumpster takes no contractor debris. We're licensed and insured.

On your driveway: we found no Town permit, fee or time limit for a temporary roll-off on private property, and the Town's Unified Development Ordinance does not name temporary roll-off dumpsters. The Town's own Dial-A-Dumpster goes in the driveway — not the yard or street — and that is the first choice for ours too. Our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.

In the street or on the sidewalk: we found no Town street dumpster permit. Town code bars placing any obstruction of any kind in town streets, sidewalks or alleys (§20-71; $100 civil penalty under §20-80), allows encroachments on Town property or easements only as approved by the town manager or a designee (§20-9), and makes storing personal property on a public street a public nuisance and a Class 3 misdemeanor (§23-107). So the container goes on your property; for any street case, call Mooresville Public Works on 704-663-7282 first.

State roads: NC 115 (S Main St), NC 150, NC 152, NC 801 and the other state roads belong to NCDOT. G.S. 136-93 bars any obstruction on a state road or highway without a written NCDOT permit, and we found no NCDOT permit path for a temporary roll-off — so on a state road the container goes on private property.

Disposal and covered loads: Iredell County sites accept solid waste from county residents only, and commercial haulers must prove the waste was generated in the county and display county-assigned identification numbers (County Code §12-10(b)). Loads must be covered so nothing blows off (§12-9), Town code says hauling vehicles must not spill along the streets (§20-4), and state law requires every load to be secured so nothing falls, blows, sifts or leaks (G.S. 20-116(g)(1)).

Just outside town: in unincorporated Iredell County, County Code Chapter 12 governs solid waste (§12-4(d)), and we found no County hauler licence or franchise in it.

Knocking something down: North Carolina's Health Hazards Control Unit (NC DHHS) requires a DHHS 3768 notice for the demolition of a building, whether or not it contains asbestos, and for removing regulated asbestos-containing material above set amounts. Work may start on the tenth working day, and fax filings are not accepted. The County's Twin Oaks facility asks for 24 hours' notice for asbestos. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Mooresville

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number that can cover delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, with protective boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rim and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, chemicals, oil and fuel, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, large appliances, and computers or TVs. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load is covered and goes to a facility permitted for that kind of waste, with metal, concrete, asphalt, cardboard and yard waste recycled through local facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Mooresville — common questions

How fast can you deliver in Mooresville?

Same-day or next-day across town, depending on availability. Call (980) 447-2697 before noon for the best chance of same-day — we answer 24/7.

Is your yard in the Town of Mooresville?

Yes. The US Census geocoder puts 735 S Broad St inside Mooresville town limits, in Iredell County.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Mooresville?

We found no Town permit for a roll-off on a driveway or private property, and no Town street dumpster permit either. Town code bars obstructions in streets and sidewalks without Town approval (§20-71, §20-9), and state roads like NC 115 need a written NCDOT permit for anything in the right-of-way (G.S. 136-93) — so the container goes on your property.

Can I just use the Town's Dial-A-Dumpster?

Only for household or yard waste. It is residents-only, seven days at most, not available from November 1 to January 1, and takes no construction or contractor debris, shingles, paint or electronics. For a remodel, a roof or contractor work, a roll-off is the answer.

How much does a dumpster cost in Mooresville?

Generally $350–$750, depending on the size, the debris, the weight, the rental length and the address — flat-rate whenever possible, with no hidden fees. Call (980) 447-2697 for a quote.
